Garbage In

  • September 19, 2019

A saying that is probably underused in our industry is “garbage in, garbage out”.

Yeah, there are fancy plugins and tools to fix a multitude of errors in recording, mixing and mastering – but we should put the best work in and it results in overall better quality.

If you “popped” when voicing, re-voice it – don’t rely on plugins to fix it – because it will sound somewhat “fixed”

The same goes for sourcing Music and Instrumentals. You can remove vocals from music with certain plugins but it never really sits right. Contact record and sync labels and get the actual instrumentals. I do it all the time and I am thankful for it as the product sounds better.

Remember – what goes in, will come out.
